This is more
a private flat than a hostel - and from the first moment
Constantin and his mother have made sure I was feeling
more than welcome. Exceptionally clean and cosy; simple
but delicious breakfast; great view on the outskirts of
Bucharest; not exactly close to the centre but not far
from metro station; for runners: beautiful park in the
neighbourhood. Should I ever visit Bucharest again, this
is where I'd go!

Tis was the cosiest hostel I have ever
stayed in, the host was so friendly and so
helpful, although it is out of the city it is
conveiniantly close to public transport and right
beside the most beautiful lake! The breakfast he
makes is the best omlette I have ever tasted, I
will definantly be returning when I visit Romania
again!
Constantin
was very welcoming and a great host. He was very
helpful and had maps and everything printed and ready
for us when we arrived. He also suggested places for
us to visit including a pizza place just down the road
(club 16??) which I would highly recommend. Absolutely
delicious. The hostel was a short and easy metro ride
into the main square (around 1 euro). The breakfast of
omelette and cheese was delicious and came with fresh
bread! The only prob we had was finding the hostel!
use map!

“Great place
with a nice view”
Constantin is a super
helpful and friendly host. he even allowed me to
still use the space until late afternoon although I
had basically already checked out. The breakfast was
really nice as well! Great value, would definitely
recommend.

Constantin is a very nice guy.
He is friendly and takes care of all guests. Though
the hostel is far from the city center or down town,
it is located in a quite residential area near to a
beautiful lake. I recommend using Uber to go from
hostel to the other places because it is very cheap
and safe. So if you take Uber, You won`t have any
problem with the location of the hostel. It was a
bit warm during the day in the hostel. This was the
only problem I faced during my stay at Tina
Hostel.

The hostel is in an apartment block in a p!easant
residential area with a very good market nearby, with
booths selling fresh produce, and several stores. The
owner is friendly and helpful. I left at 5 in the
morning to catch the train on my !ast day, and he got up
early to make breakfast for me.

The
most caring host I`ve ever met. The apartment is
extremely clean, and Constantin gave us a lot of
advices to experience the city the best we could. He
even waited for us to wake up every morning to make us
breakfast. The host is 3 subway stops from the main
square which makes it extremely easy to move around. I
couldn`t recommend Host Tina more

I stayed with Constantin for two nights, and had the
dorm to myself, which was a lucky break. It was quite
warm, but there was a fan which made sleeping much
easier. The hostel is in an apartment, and it is outside
of the center, but the directions provided and the metro
made it very easy to access. The price was good and they
provide a lovely warm breakfast, and are very flexible
with times for the breakfast. Constantin is also very
happy to give advice and directions, and to have a chat,
but also gives you your privacy when that is desired. A
great place to stay.

I am pleased to recommend Hostel Tina for

The owner
Constantin is a very nice, helpful and makes you feel
really welcome. His omelette breakfast is out of this
world and is enough to keep you going for many hours.
Constantin’s Mother is such a sweet and wonderful lady who
also makes you feel very welcome. There is a beautiful
park just a few minutes away where you can jog or relax by

weeks. It’s a short train ride to all the major

I know it's kind of late to write this
review since I last stayed here in June 2011. I was
actually planning to spend a few nights here this year
while heading to my cousin's wedding in Roman. From what I
remembered, the host was hospitable and everything was
neat, clean and well-arranged. I had to say the breakfast
(fresh and handmade upon wake-up) was amazing and one of
the best I'd had for years. The location was a little hard
to find in a quiet small community, but it should not be a
big problem with a metro station nearby. Definitely
recommend it!

The hostel is in an apartment block, which may be a bit
confusing at the first time, but the hostel is really cool.
Firstof all Konstantin, the owner of the hostel, is very
friendly and there for you, if you need something.
Furthermore tea, coffee and breakfast is included. The
facilities are very clean, the rooms cozy and tidy and the
view really good - an advantage of a flat in the 9th floor.
;) It was also great, that we could cook at any time and
Konstantin's special spices are very tasty.
The metro in bucharest if quite good and cheap, so it is in
fact not far away from anything you are interested in. Give

run by a woman and her son Constantine. It is immaculately
clean, everything works, the bathroom is spotless, the wc
works, there is also loo paper – what a boon – and 9 floors
up so the view is great and a kitchen, clean, with lots of
utensils and dishes to borrow, and a frig also for food. And
the added wonder to this was that there was one room as a
4-bed dorm complete with free 24 hour internet and a private
room. While I was there in the dorm room, a party of 4
italians came so Constantine put me in the private room and
let the italians have a room to themselves. So I got 3
nights at the same rate of, I have quite forgotten, no, it
was 50 lei or equivalent to $A22pn for all the privacy. Did
I enjoy that and did I use it you ask?. You bet I really
indulged self.

“Very helpful owner and great location”
Reviewed April 13, 2013
I stayed here for 2 nights and
have to say that it was an excellent place. It's in an
apartment, so a small hostel. Constantin who runs the
hostel is very helpful and an interesting person to chat
to. He takes a genuine interest in his guests and tries
hard to make sure they get the most from their visit to
Bucharest. The entire place was very clean.
I was in the double room which was nicely decorated.
Breakfast was included in the very reasonable price for
this hostel. You also have use of the kitchen and the
lounge.
It's a short walk to local shops and some restaurants.
The underground station is also only a 7 or 8 minute
walk from the hostel.
I would definitely stay here again the next time I am
back in Bucharest.

What did you like best about the property?
The owner was really nice and friendly. We arrived
quite late in the evening and he was still more than
happy to help us. He provided maps and gave us a key
to a locker for safe storage of passports etc. The
owener also cooked breakfast in the morning when we
were ready for it (which was amazing) and made
tea/coffee for us. He also gave us lots of nice
ice-cold water for our journey when we were leaving
(very, very kind!!) :D
What did you dislike about the property?
The hostel and the owner are lovely but it is
quite a small business. There is only room for about
5/6 people to stay so its not the ideal place to
stay if youre looking to meet other travellers.

incredibly welcoming and kind. It warms my heart
to know that people like this exist in the world.
The breakfast was delicious and the location of
the hostel allowed me to see a part of Bucharest
and gain an appreciation for the city that I doubt
I would have otherwise. I can't thank them enough
for such a wonderful stay.

distance from the centre wasn't a problem, as the
hostel was close to a Metro stop and a food

Excellent facilities with a very welcoming staff
to boot. I've stayed in Bucharest many times and
this is by far the best option if you're bored
with soulless hotels and looking for somewhere
with a homely atmosphere. The breakfast is a real
boon as are the facilities on offer. Constantin
and his mum pay a real attention to detail and
it's obvious they've had a considerable experience
in hosting tourists. If you want a launch pad to
explore the city with a base where you can share
your experiences, and to be able to ask for advice
Hostel Tina is definitely the place to stay.

The hosts are some of the friendliest people
we've encountered - they made our stay super
enjoyable. The rooms were very clean and the
bathroom was always fresh. The location is not so
bad - but it is a subway ride from most places of
interest. However, a subway station is just a 10
minute walk from the hostel, which we found to be
rather okay. This isn't a party hostel, but more
of a relaxed, super clean, small hostel. In a way,
more like a guest house than a hostel. The hosts
are also very eager to please, offering tea
whenever you come home and willingly sharing some
Romanian specialties with you. If we ever go back
to Bucharest, we will definitely stay at Hostel
Tina again.

Staying at Constantin's Hostel Tina is more like
a home stay really - at a friend's place with all
you could hope to find there: a warm smile,
interesting talks, a good cup of tea or coffee,
helpful advice on the city and country - oh, and
for those who are on the rock side of life:
Constantin's collection has great stuff on offer!
The small and comfortable hostel is newly
renovated and most probably the cleanest I've ever
stayed in (and I've travelled a lot :-)). As to
what the location is concerned, when getting there
I thought it would have been more convenient to
have stayed in the city center, but actually the
metro takes you downtown quickly and I would not
have wanted to have missed the insight into how
Bucharestians live. The lakes and park nearby are
a great place for a quiet walk or rest after a day
in the buzzling city center. I will definitely
come back!

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. Free
24hr internet PC in your room plus flat screen TV.
Everything is spotlessly clean. The owner
Constantin is so friendly and helpful. He is
always there and nothing is too much trouble for
him. The hostel is convenient for the metro and
trams and there is a lovely park with a beautiful
lake nearby. Also, don't believe everything you
hear about Bucharest - just be sensible and you'll
enjoy it as much as I did.

hostel tina was home away from home. such a
friendly atmosphere, always welcomed with a cup of
tea and pretzels. when it was hot we were offered
clean cold bottled water which saved us a lot of
money. it was amazing having your own t.v. and
computer with fast internet, and the room was so
clean and a very comfortable size. we would

Comfy but a little over priced for the double

The hostel was very clean and confortable, indeed
it was like being home. Constantin ois very
helpful and he is always tehre to aid you in what
you need. If you arrive late, however, I suggest
that you ask for a taxi at the airport if you dont
know if your flight is going to get delayed. There
is a lot of offer at the airport. My plane got
delayed for 1 hour and my luggage took about 40
minutes to get out, and when I got out, Constantin
was not there. He had agreed to pick me up for 70
Ron, but whe I called him and he got there, he
doubled the price, saying that he had waited for
me a long time. If you ask Constantin to pick you
up at the airport, make sure that you do agree on
a price and he wont change it.

It's a bit out of the way but not far from the
metro stop- i was by myself and arrived late at
night- have to say i was a bit scared trying to
find the hostel late at night. But Constantine is
a star very friendly.

Constantine is a lovely guy and very concerned
that you enjoy your time there. It is 'just' an
apartment in an anonymous nest of highrise but you
are made to feel very welcome and the kettle is
ALWAYS on. Beds are good and the lift has
character. Hey, it's a budget hostel so you get
what you pay for but it is clean, very friendly,
and a good fit for Bucharest.

It was clean, and Constantine was very helpful.
He arranged airport pickup for me, and offered me
coffee, tea, and pretzels, and even let me take
home a book that was in the room that I was
reading.

Constantine is the coolest. He is really proud of
his high rating and does everything he can to keep
it. its 2007. why everywhere dosen't have a
wireless router is beyond me. Constantine has one
and a computer in each room, too...free.
Personally, I really liked the location. I saw a
part of town I never would have seen, otherwise.
The lake, nearby is peaceful and I felt like
Constantine was going way out of his way for me.

Everything is taken care of in Hostel Tina. Great
staff, free coffee/thee every morning, they do
your laundry for you. It's just like home, but
then in a twelve-story grey apartment block in
Bucharest. Anyway, great value for money!

This place didn't feel like a hostel. A lovely
small little place, Constantine allows you to feel
totally comfortable in this city. From giving you
metro maps, to offering you slippers...to putting
on DVDs for you...to having your mint tea made for
you ready when you get up at 6.30am. This place
made my Bucharest experience much more special.

I enjoyed a lot this hostel because while i was
there it really felt like being at home! The staff
is very friendly, respectfull and helpful. The
place is very clean, there is internet in the room
and you can have a nice coffee or tea together
with a nice talk with the staff or the other
travelers. It felt very safe, home-like and
therefore closer to the locals way of living. If i
get back to Bucharest i will book the same place.
I definitely recomend it!

I really enjoyed staying in this hostel. It's
small and very quiet, but has a great, comfortable
atmosphere. The people that run it are
unbelievably friendly and I felt very safe there.
It's a bit hard to find at first but once you're
there, it's only a short walk to the metro station
and on the way are shops, supermarkets, a fruit
market and lots of small parks - it's really nice.
